MEET THE DOULAS
Justine Temke founded Midwest Doulas to help create the best birth and postpartum experiences for growing families. While working as a private doula, Justine quickly realized that the best births happen when families are well-informed and well-supported.
Midwest Doulas was formed to offer a strictly team-based model of doula care, which means there’s always a familiar face ready to support you and your partner or birth family — no matter when your delivery occurs. Justine and her team of doulas work tirelessly to provide the evidence-based education and non-judgemental support growing families need to navigate their birth and postpartum journeys
Justine Temke – Lead Doula and Founder
Midwest Doulas’ founder Justine Temke was born and raised in France. That unique world view is what drives her passion to educate and support women. She loves to share her knowledge of pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding.
Justine strives to empower families with compassionate support during and after pregnancy, by providing tools to make the choices that will result in your best birth.
When not at work, Justine loves spending time with her hubby and kiddos, cooking, crafting, having dinner with friends, or reading French books!
Professionally and personally, Justine has experienced many routes to childbirth – non-medicated, medicated, cesarean, water birth, home birth, and births in hospitals and birth centers. As a result of this breadth of experience, Justine partners with doulas who share the same values of providing families with a open-minded, judgement-free support.
Justine Temke is a DONA-certified birth doula, a certified Evidence-Based Birth instructor, and a Certified Lactation Education Counselor (CLEC). She has also been certified in HypnoBirthing, specially trained in postpartum, the“Spinning Babies” method, and provides placenta encapsulation services. Justine volunteers her time as an on-call doula at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury and serves under-privileged moms through Everyday Miracles in Minneapolis.
